and Proposed Organizational Activities
A. Upgrade Existing CADD Machines – Subject to budget constraints, ADOT
is planning to upgrade existing CADD machines to HP workstations.
B. Evaluating upgrading MicroStation & CADD Related Third
Party Software – A committee made up of Intermodal
Transportation Division’s technical staff from CADD Management & Support,
Roadway, Bridge, Traffic, Engineering Survey, Right of Way, and State Wide
Project Management will be evaluating upgrading MicroStation & CADD related
third party software to version “V8i”, subject to hardware requirements.
C. Evaluating/Improving CADD Standards - A committee made up of Intermodal
Transportation Division’s technical staff from CADD Management & Support,
Roadway, Bridge, Traffic, Engineering Survey, Right of Way, and State Wide
Project Management is evaluating existing CADD Standards to enhance workflow
and accommodate features available in new software
Infrastructure
A.
ADOT's CADD system currently consists of HP workstations and pc’s; HP
servers; Xerox, HP and OCE plotters all networked via an Ethernet wide area
network using Windows XP operating system.
B.
In addition to Microstation, ADOT uses the following CADD software:
InRoads, InRoads Site, InRoads Survey, Iplot, SignCAD, AutoTURN, and Falcon document
management software.

Web Menus - ADOT is conducting a study to evaluate the feasibility of migrating
existing CADD bar menus to a web interface.
