CURRENT AND PROPOSED ORGANIZATIONAL ACTIVITIES

  • In June of 2007, SCDOT assumed maintenance responsibilities for SCARPS; this is an application developed by Bentley Corporation to allow the Oversize Overweight office to manage their permitting process.

  • In July of 2007, SCDOT assumed maintenance responsibilities for PMRS; this is an application developed by Fluor Daniel Corporation to allow the preconstruction office to manager the various facets of the contract letting process for construction projects.

·         Implementation of statewide real time Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) network/Virtual

              Reference Stations (VRS).

NEW SYSTEMS (Just Completed, In Progress, or Preparing to Start)

·         Integrated Transportation Management System (ITMS) - A map based, point and click GIS system for users to click and retrieve information from SCDOT major applications such as: project information, funding, construction, maintenance, road attributes. An SQL Server database was created to mirror mainframe Adabas database for PPMS for use in ITMS.

  • Signal Inventory Form application - A .NET web application.  This application has been split into two separate applications: SIF District which allows DOT district personnel to inventory signals at the district and county level; and SIF City which allows municipalities that have maintenance agreements with SCDOT to inventory city signals.  We are planning to create a PDA interface.
  • Contract Bid Estimator System (CBES) - We are in the final month of our conversion from a Visual Studio 6.0 application made available through a Citrix server farm to a Visual Studio .NET application still available via Citrix.
  • Project Viewer - a web application used to provide the engineering design offices staff with access to documents, construction plans and milestone data. We are in the beginning stages of a conversion from an Active Server Page application to a Visual Studio .NET web application using a SQL Server.
  • Preconstruction Project Management System - We are continuing to maintain and expand the web interface for the Preconstruction Project Management System.  This interface allows DOT personnel access to preconstruction data without the inconvenience of a mainframe logon.
  • Highway Maintenance Management System (HMMS) - We are approaching the implementation phase of a major project to add a new functional area.  The Equipment Management Module will support the equipment pool, fuel card assignments, and equipment service.

§         Highway Construction Plans Library - Implementation of Falcon/DMS, Falcon/SVP,

and Falcon/Indexer to manage plan room document images such as: as-let plans,

as-built plans, shop drawings, and contracts.

RECORD OF EXCHANGE

§         WYDOT – BRASS Suites.
