Current and Proposed Organizational Activities

A. Upgrade Existing CADD Machines – Subject to budget constraints, ADOT is currently planning to upgrade existing CADD machines to HP XW4600 workstations.

B. Evaluating upgrading MicroStation & CADD Related Third Party Software –  A committee made up of Intermodal Transportation Division’s technical staff from CADD Management & Support, Roadway, Bridge, Traffic, Engineering Survey, Right of Way, and State Wide Project Management are evaluating upgrading MicroStation & CADD related third party software to either XM or Athens.

Infrastructure

A.      ADOT's CADD system currently consists of  HP workstations and pc’s; HP servers; Xerox, HP and OCE plotters all networked via an Ethernet wide area network using Windows XP operating system.

B.      In addition to Microstation, ADOT uses the following CADD software: InRoads, Iplot, SignCAD, AutoTURN, Axiom utilities, and Falcon document management software.
