1) WVDOT was absent for the 2003, 2004, and 2006 Meetings.
2) Unfortunately, WVDOT will not be able to attend the 2007 Meeting.
3) WVDOT did attend the 2006 Area II HEEP Meeting that was held in Louisville, KY.
4) In the meantime, WVDOT has/is:
a) Implemented MicroStation/V8.5
b) Implemented Bentley Civil Select/V8.5
c) Has done some Document Management work in regards to Right-of-Way documents and maps as well as legal documents that need to be scanned and indexed.
d) Created a GIS Dept: preliminary work is currently being done using the ESRI product ARCView.
e) Developed MicroStation/V8.5 and InRoads CADD Standards. These standards have now been posted on the WVDOT website.
f) Starting to work on updating these standards for MicroStation/XM and InRoads V8.8. Note: these versions use 'XML', therefore considerable recoding of the standards is required.
g) While there is general acknowledgement that an Electronic Archive for old plans is needed, there have not been any decisions made as to just how WVDOT is to proceed on this topic.
h) WVDOT has completed electronic versions for all its County Highway Maps and the insets for these maps (for a total of 129 for the state). These maps are now available via the WVDOT web site. Note: these maps are printed to the odd size of 22" X 40" (which goes back many, many years), however some planning is being done to produce maps to the more standard 'D' size (22" X 34") size.
