• Geomatics Information System Release 2 & Release 3
• TIMS Data Repository Application Release 1
• Collision Information Application Release 1
• Traffic Safety Signals Application Release 1
• Geohazards and Materials Monitoring Application Release 1
• Network Performance Evaluation Decision Application Release 1
• Appurtenance Information Application Release 1
• Network Expansion Support System Release 1
• Program Management Application Release 1- Maintenance Contract Management System.

In Progress: Fiscal Year 2007-2008

GIA Edition 2 Releases 1 and 2
R1 - This project develops software which leverages the existing work, experience and knowledge from the existing WebMap implementation to develop an adaptive, flexible WebMap application both for users and maintainers that advances to a more robust design, supports the TIMS objective of becoming a knowledge portal for the Department, and improves TIMS user satisfaction by improving functionality.

R2 - This project will deliver software enhancements to data, maintenance functionality and data access mechanisms in the existing software, in order to provide the Network and related data required by TIMS and TIMS-supported applications in a complete and efficient manner.

Bridge Information Application Version 1 Release 3
This project is the 3rd phase of the Bridge Information Application. The project includes application detailed design, construction and implementation of Level 2 bridge inspections software and the remaining bridge management (BIMS) functionality.

NESS Version 1 Release 2
This project is the 2nd release of NESS. To meet the business delivery date of release 1 of the TIMS NESS application a number of business requirements were deferred for future development. These high priority business requirements are addressed in release 2, and include providing enhanced software for reporting, for work activities to be passed to RODA, for intersection and interchange assessment and dynamic segmentation processes.

Work Rationalization/Optimization Releases 1 and 2
R1 - The Rationalization/Optimization (RODA) Release 1 software was developed and implemented in 2006/07 fiscal year. The transition and warranty steps of the Implementation phase of this project will be completed in 2007/08.

R2 - RODA release 2 will focus on developing software enhancements to the existing application to provide a more robust Benefit-Cost module, and improve upon the automated support for processes for developing Projects and Programs. It may also include enhancements to provide better automated integration between RODA, PMA, and NPEDA.

CPMS R1, R2 and R3
R1 - This project is the completion of the MCMS phase of PMA which was started in 2006/07. This project develops software to manage Alberta highway maintenance contracts, project schedules, financial estimates, forecasts and actuals, work order management and so on.

R2 - This project is the completion of the CPMS phase of PMA which was started in 2006/07. This project develops software to manage Alberta highway construction contracts, project schedules, financial estimates, forecasts and actuals, work order management and so on. The Construction Project Management component of PMA interfaces with RODA to receive 3 year program project information and work activities from RODA. It also interfaces with IMAGIS for construction project reconciliation.

R3 - This project is the 2nd release of MCMS. To meet the business delivery date of release 1 some business requirements were deferred for future development. These high priority business requirements are addressed in release 2.

MCMS provides functionality and data to manage Alberta highway maintenance contracts, project schedules, financial estimates, forecasts and actuals, work order management and so on.
Grants Management Application R1
This project addresses development of a new edition of the existing municipal grants system. The municipal grant programs in partnership with Alberta cities, towns, villages, summer villages, rural municipalities and Métis settlements. The application addresses potential and committed municipal projects, grant calculations, approvals, monitoring and reporting on the Grants Programs.

Transportation Safety Services (TSS) In Progress

Carrier Programs
MOTRIS Enhancement - Sanction Mgmt & Carrier Action Report
This project will develop automated functionality to streamline the administration process. Enhancements will include the following:

- Develop system generated letters
- Develop easy access to summary profile events information.

Transport Engineering Programs
TRAVIS Rounting Multi Jurisdictions
The primary objective of the TRAVIS Routing Full Deployment Project is to expand the routing functionality and GIS spatial and attribute data to include all local and city roadways. All business rules will include a jurisdiction component so that local rules can be incorporated into the system. This will allow permit application and auto approval for Alberta cities and municipalities and provide end-to-end routing between any two points within Alberta. The pilot project will include Edmonton, Calgary, Leduc County, Strathcona County, Parkland County, County of Beaver and possibly one or two others.

Manitoba Prorate Implementation
07/08 Carry on from 06/07; 08/09 Implement Clearing House; 09/10 Implement Staggering Renewal. Changes required to implement the Manitoba Prorate system continue to make changes in 07/08, finish implementing clearinghouse and set up staggered registrations the in following years.

Vehicle Safety Programs
Missing / Stolen Motor Vehicle Inspection Certificate
INFTRA requires a real time solution in which MOVES would query MOTRIS before accepting Alberta Inspection Certificate (Out of Province, Salvage and Commercial) would be required. MOVES does not report out of province vehicles to IRE so a change would have to be made to report to IRE. Then subsequently, those jurisdictions could perform an IRE search against Alberta to ensure that the vehicles were registered in Alberta before accepting the Alberta out of province vehicle inspection certificates.

Driver Safety & Research
TIMS Data Acquisition - Real Time Integration TIMS to ACIS
Provide real time interface to allow ACIS transactions to access TIMS Highway Network Data, and CLIS to pass collision location data to ACIS.
Commercial Vehicle Enforcement
CVSA - Vehicle Defect Analysis - Phase 3C
Deliver MOTRIS system enhancements to expand existing CVSA functionality to display CVSA history, a badge number history report, officer certification reports, and CVSA defect type analysis reports.

Driver Fitness & Monitoring
Alberta Driver History - Professional Driver Profile (PDP)
The PDP will identify events involving the commercial driver whether at the wheel of a commercial vehicle or a private passenger vehicle. Using existing information in MOVES and MOTRIS a process will be developed to identify violations, sanctions related to professional drivers. Phase 3 -Phase III will look at enhancing/redefining the existing driver monitoring programs and systems to provided coordinated use of information as well as blending in the high risk driver strategies from the TSP and CCMTA.

Corporate Applications and Technology Refresh Initiatives – In Progress

Electronic Information Management (EIM)
EIM for TIMS - Engineering Documents
Migrate existing Bridge Engineering unstructured data from the AIT's shared drive. This will include the amalgamation from regional offices. Define business process and rules in order to manage the document lifecycle.

EDMS Migration / Upgrade
Migrate two Livelink environmental systems into one within the Government of Alberta Domain, upgrade to the latest release of Livelink.

Integrated Application Development Environment
Virtualization of servers, VMware, 12 servers in 2007-2008.
To install more than one virtual server on each physical server to optimize utilization in keeping with industry best practices. This will not only save on the costs of physical servers, but also save on physical space and power utilization to run the servers and air-conditioning. The new virtualization technology also makes for ease of subsequent implementations and ongoing maintenance.

GOA (Government of Alberta) Desktop Integration
Complete the project started in 2006-2007 to migrate all remaining desktop equipment in the department to the GOA Domain in the drive to align with Government-wide directions and be among the earliest departments to do so.
