CURRENT AND PROPOSED ORGANIZATIONAL ACTIVITIES
- Redevelopment of Contract Bid Estimator system (CBES) using Visual Studio .NET.
- Development of R/W Appraisal forms web application using Visual Studio .NET. Application
will give DOT R/W appraisers access to standard appraisal forms.
- Development for a bridge replacement tracking application using Microsoft Visual Studio .NET and
SQL Server database.
- New features in Road Inventory Management Systems (RIMS) to include the photo log viewer enhancements and the capture of data for FHWA reporting.
- Implementation of statewide real time Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) network/Virtual
Reference Stations (VRS).
NEW SYSTEMS (Just Completed, In Progress, or Preparing to Start)
- Preconstruction Project Management System - Completed the changes required in the Preconstruction Project Management System to make the primary key the project control number plus a suffix. Completed changes to make all modules object oriented. Working on web interface to allow intranet users to browse data in the System.
- Integrated Transportation Management System (ITMS) - This application presents
a map of South Carolina for users to click and retrieve information from
SCDOT major applications such as: funding, construction, maintenance, road attributes, etc.
- Signal Inventory Form application - Completed Signal Inventory Form application to allow municipalities to track installation and maintenance of traffic signals (SIF City) using Visual Studio .NET. Cities will use this application to track signals involved in agreements with DOT.
- Bridge Replacement application - using Visual Studio .NET this application will allow bridge design to track projects concerning bridges slated for replacement.
- Highway Construction Plan Library - Implementation of Falcon/DMS, Falcon/SVP,
and Falcon/Indexer to enhance plan room document management.
- Pavement Design Calculator - Online calculator designed per DOT testing lab
specifications. Allows any user to enter a number of parameters to determine optimum pavement mix formula.
- Primavera, Primavision, and P3/e for project scheduling.
